So I wanna ask you guys what to do if this happens.

I got yelled at in front of coworkers, loud enough for everyone to hear. It was around 10:15 pm yesterday, after the night shift. I’d just had a tiny plastic cup of water to calm down a bit, and then got pulled into an urgent chat group and ripped into.

Short version: there was confusion in the meds case note, but actually it was the duty of the assistant who’d handed over to me. The paper notes had been removed. I spent like 10–15 minutes trying to find proof, but the boss wouldn’t listen — he was so pressuring, asking question after question, and I totally froze. I’m still shocked, honestly.

Some of the things he said were really embarrassing, especially in front of everyone. Some people were just quiet and stared, others mumbled softly. I tried to explain but kept getting interrupted, so I couldn’t finish — like… I ran out of time to explain.

I’m 28, a nurse at a hospital in Phuket. I do night shifts a lot, it’s really tough. Some nights I’m standing for almost 12 hours straight. My hand still had the blue pen in it then. When the boss said he was going to punish me I got scared it would affect my work record, the atmosphere, and that I’d get penalized T_T

Also, my boss often dumps work on people without checking if we’re ready, and when something goes wrong he blames whoever was last. Should I speak up and ask for checks before any decisions are made? I’m afraid if I say anything the vibe will get super tense and coworkers will think worse of me.

Or should I just take it as a lesson and try to transfer to another unit? I can’t decide. What do you all think? Need advice please haha.

P.S. I’m craving that porridge from the stall at the alley entrance tonight. Wanted to buy some around 1 am to comfort myself but didn’t want to get home too late.
