Beach club worker in Hua Hin struck and killed by truck while cycling, rattling tourist community

On the morning of Saturday, August 22, 2026, a serious accident occurred on Phetkasem Road as it passed through Hua Hin, near a beach club in the Cha-am–Hua Hin beach area. Hua Hin Police Station received reports that a 10-wheeler truck had struck a cyclist, who died at the scene. The deceased was a man of about 35 years old and worked at a local beach club. Hua Hin police said they will summons the truck driver for further questioning and will check his driving license and the truck’s maintenance records. They will coordinate with municipal authorities to consider short-term measures such as installing warning signs, improving crosswalks at soi intersections, and adding convex mirrors to increase visibility. For longer-term measures, officials have proposed adding separated bicycle lanes along Phetkasem Road through Hua Hin’s tourist areas to separate traffic and reduce risk to cyclists and pedestrians.
