Phitsanulok Prepares Measures for School Reopening, Emphasizing Safety, Transportation and Community Healthcare
Ahead of the new school term, Phitsanulok’s health and education agencies have jointly issued readiness measures to accommodate large numbers of students returning to classes, improve public transportation, and bolster community healthcare facilities to handle emergencies. The initiatives aim to reduce risks and provide convenience for parents and students.
The Provincial Education Office coordinated with municipalities and public transport agencies to adjust bus routes and increase peak-hour services, especially on corridors where multiple schools are located close together. Campaigns urge parents to avoid parking in front of schools to ease congestion and reduce accident risks. Many schools have introduced rotating drop-off and pick-up systems and designated points to keep the process orderly.
On road safety, a free vehicle inspection program for songthaews and school transport vehicles is being run in cooperation with the Provincial Land Transport Office. Proactive checkpoints offer brake, tire and overall vehicle condition checks before the term begins. The transport office also reminded operators to strictly follow safety standards and to prioritize driver training on safe driving and basic first aid.
The Provincial Public Health Office has assigned medical teams and school health staff to strengthen teachers’ and education personnel’s readiness for handling school emergencies, such as basic first aid, heatstroke, and care for children with chronic conditions. Annual campaigns for routine vaccinations and surveillance of diseases that could spread in schools are also being promoted to help ensure uninterrupted, safe learning.
The measures are expected to have positive effects on parents and the community if implemented seriously. Many parents expressed satisfaction that local agencies are prioritizing their children’s safety in travel and health while at school. Transport operators said the free vehicle inspections reduce short-term costs and build confidence among service users.
Relevant agencies said they will monitor implementation throughout the first month of the term to gather data for refining measures to fit real problems—particularly traffic in front of schools and emergency management in communities. Where weaknesses are found, they will propose corrective plans covering management practices and long-term policies so education in Phitsanulok can proceed safely and effectively.
