Hua Hin — The Hua Hin Municipality held a meeting with security agencies, civil society groups and tourism operators to review security policies and emergency preparedness following recent unrest and terrorist incidents in several southern provinces, which have raised concerns among tourists and the local community in the resort town of Hua Hin.

The meeting focused on exchanging strategic information and approaches to risk communication with the public. Tourist police and intelligence units clarified that there is currently no information or direct threat to Hua Hin. However, to reassure the public, the municipality has asked agencies to prepare emergency plans, enhance patrols in key public areas such as piers, transport terminals and nighttime tourist districts, and conduct regular drills for responding to serious incidents.

In addition to security measures, the meeting discussed potential impacts on the tourism sector if reports of unrest spread widely. Local business owners said that while Hua Hin has a strong domestic tourist base, negative news can lead to short-term drops in hotel bookings, especially among foreign visitors who may postpone travel. Operators therefore requested government support for positive communications and marketing measures to help revive demand.
