Took GrabCar from Sukhumvit 21 to Suvarnabhumi airport. Normally takes 40 minutes and costs about 350 to 400 baht. But this driver went through Rama 9 and then back via the motorway. Took 1 hour 20 minutes and fare was 780 baht. Asked the driver why not take the normal route and he said this way is faster even though it took twice as long. Complained to Grab and they refunded the difference but I wasted time and almost missed my flight. From now on I will always keep Google Maps open to check the route myself.
