My motorcycle would not start so I pushed it to a roadside repair shop. The mechanic looked at it briefly and said the alternator needs replacing. Price 3500 baht. I was shocked because it was expensive but I was in a rush to work so I agreed. After the repair I went home and told my friend who is a mechanic. He said a motorcycle alternator replacement normally costs 800 to 1200 baht including labor. I was overcharged by 2500 baht. Went back to claim but the shop refused saying the price was already agreed. Lesson learned always check prices first.
