I work at a factory near Udon Thani, day shift. I got there around 6:20am because it seemed like they called an urgent meeting before the shift started.
Thought it’d be a quick note about switching production lines, like 5–10 minutes tops... but the boss ripped into our group instead, yelling across the meeting table asking who messed up, then pointed at one person who’s actually my close friend. I was standing there holding my old pen, my hands went cold, totally stunned and silent.
I didn’t know whether to be angry or embarrassed — felt like I was being blamed in front of my friends even though the problem wasn’t the person he pointed at. It was the machine and the maintenance team not telling us in advance. The boss didn’t give anyone a chance to speak, just said one sentence and ordered us back to our line, like that. It ended in a few sentences but the awkwardness dragged on for over an hour, seriously.
The friend he pointed at went back to their station holding their head and was quietly crying around the ten-thirty break. I just watched but didn’t dare say much because I was afraid it’d blow up. The boss runs the shift and there’s no other immediate supervisor. I’m 35, been working nearly ten years, never had this happen before — surprised at myself for crying inside T_T
Should I talk to them properly sometime, or keep quiet? I’m embarrassed in front of my friends. I’m so confused, really confused. Want advice from you folks on the board — have you dealt with a boss like this?
P.S. Sorry if I typed this all messy, just got off work and still dizzy 5555
Boss called an emergency meeting this morning and yelled in front of everyone — I was speechless
