I want to ask you all something.
Should I keep sticking around if my boss keeps changing my job without telling me first, like, all the time?

I'm 25, working in a factory in Bangkok, been on the production line almost two years. To be honest I came from a simple technical background and took this job to save some money, but lately I really can't stand it.

Usually I do the morning shift 06:00–14:00. My work needs coordination with other departments. The other day around 09:10 they suddenly told us to move lines because the customer changed the product. The boss told me to go do packing first and said they'd send someone to help later, but after almost 40 minutes nobody came. I still had to do two positions alone. Super uncomfortable, super tiring. Lifting heavy boxes, and my hands got sticky from tape and glue. Ugh.

This isn't the first time. Stuff like this happens almost every week. Sometimes my friend and I get pulled to different tasks in the middle of the night. Yesterday around 10pm the boss messaged on LINE saying to urgently pick something up from the warehouse. It was raining and traffic was terrible, but they pulled me off the work I was doing and then blamed me for being slow. I was like... stunned.

Some coworkers get treated the same, but some never do. It's like the boss picks whoever they feel like using. I'm not one to argue much, I'm shy about rocking the boat, but I'm starting to wonder if the boss has favorites on the shift or something. Am I being petty? I do my job well, but whenever I do it I get dragged to do other stuff, so my main duties suffer. Super confused, seriously.

One time I took two sick days because my back was killing me. One night I woke up in so much pain, with only pills and my keychain hanging from my pants. The boss called and asked me to come help do part of the work because it was overflowing. He said "please help me" in a pleading tone, but when I'm there he gives short orders and doesn’t care about how I feel, explains very little, and sometimes scolds without expression. Others stay quiet when they see it, but I feel really uncomfortable.

I asked an office friend if I should talk to the boss directly — would he get angry, or try to get me fired easily? The company has been reshuffling people lately. The friend said try talking nicely, but I'm scared of the consequences. I still need the job and the income, but I'm also so stressed I don't want to go in. I even dreamed about LINE work messages on Saturday night T_T

I don't want to be a whiner, but sometimes I feel taken advantage of. What should I do? Should I talk to the boss directly and ask for clearer task division, or just look for another job? Or am I overthinking this? OP is so confused.

What do you all think? P.S. If anyone's been through this, please share — maybe there's a way to handle it that actually works lol
