Typing on my phone so sorry if I miss stuff
So... I'm 32, live in Phuket, run a small online shop near home. Been with my boyfriend about two and a half years. We see each other almost every day because he helps deliver and move stuff, sometimes helps pack for about an hour around 5:30am before the shop opens. We don't live together though — he usually goes back to his parents' place near the shop.
Everything was fine, but in the past month or two I've been feeling weird more and more. It started with him keeping his phone tucked in his bag all the time, and turning the screen off when someone calls (he never did that before). And when we sit together around 6pm and the shop lights glare in, he'll look up at his chat and smile to himself, like a quick little smile and then type back super fast, like he's scared someone might see. Then he goes quiet.
Once I saw a name in his chat I hadn't seen before, a short nickname, and a story caption that said "see you soon." My heart raced, but I tried not to think too much, figured maybe it's a worker or an old friend. But then more things piled up, like he said he'd help a friend finish work one night but left at like 10pm and only came back at 4:30am, saying he got carsick or fell asleep in the car. I was super sleepy then so I didn't ask, but when we talked in the morning his story was all short and missing details, like he was trying to tell it quickly. I started wondering if he was hiding something or if I'm just overthinking.
Also, super weird — he started banning me from using my phone when we sleep together, saying "don't turn LINE on loudly" or "just resting my eyes." That never happened before. I'm confused — if I'm alone I can use my phone, so why these tiny rules? Should I trust more? I'm dizzy.
I don't want to snoop in his life at all. I'm really a chill person. But now I can't sleep well. When I try to ask lightly he gives short answers and changes the subject, or calls me "too sensitive." Am I thinking too much? Should I bring it up directly without flipping out? Sometimes I'm scared it'll ruin things because of distrust, but if I don't say anything I have to live with this suspicion and it's so torturous, really can't speak.
Sorry for rambling lololol I want other people's perspective — what should I do? Ask him straight up, or watch more and collect proof first (sounds crazy right), or just open his chat (I know that's wrong but I'm honestly thinking about it). Anyone been through this and can tell me? T_T
Do you think my boyfriend's cheating or am I just crazy?
