I came from Korea where there is no tipping culture. In Thailand I am very confused and do not know if I should tip or not. Asked several Thai friends and got different answers. What I understand so far is regular restaurants no tip needed but 20 to 50 baht is nice. Fancy restaurants 5 to 10 percent if no service charge. Taxi or Grab round up like 87 baht give 100. Massage 50 to 100 baht. Hotel leave a 20 baht bill on the pillow. Repair workers no tip needed. It is an interesting culture. Tips are not mandatory but people are happy to receive them.
