I work at a public hospital in Khon Kaen.
It's like... I'm so exhausted. Just need to vent a bit.
Last night my shift leader called around 8:30pm saying the ward was packed and to please help out, they'd supervise. But when I got there, oh man, it was even worse. Paperwork piled up since morning, calling relatives, waiting for lab results that just came back, and then another emergency case came in. My phone in my pocket was this tiny old keypad phone I use just for alarms and it drove me crazy. I could barely sit up. I really wanted to do my best but I had no energy at all. I just went quiet.
Some coworkers have clear duties but when a patient gets serious they act like it’s not their problem. If you ask them they give one-word answers and walk off. Some people even clock out and go home while stuff is still unfinished, like they left me to fix everything alone. Sometimes the queue I’m handling still has like 4–5 hours to go — what am I supposed to do? It’s so stressful, seriously.
Another boss keeps telling me to “go handle it yourself” but never asks if I have the time or energy, like it’s a normal favor to ask. When I try to claim OT it takes ages, sometimes it’s not approved in time or not approved at all. I’m in my early thirties, not even ten years into this job. I don’t want to be someone who complains, but now it’s really affecting my mental and physical health. I feel worn out all over, my shoulders hurt all the time, and I cried alone at 1am last night — just suddenly started crying for like ten minutes.
I don’t know what to do. Should I bring up reorganizing the workload with my boss, ask to change shifts, try to mediate with coworkers first, or just suck it up and keep going? What do you all think lol
