Sorry guys, first post, still new to typing on forums, typing on my phone so excuse the mess.
I'm 25 and freelancing in Hua Hin. I've been getting work through an agency in Bangkok for about, hmm, almost a year now.

So there's this one client who's the project coordinator, but honestly behaves like my boss. He wants me to fix files urgently at 10:20 PM even though the contract says don’t send stuff outside work hours. He goes, “There's a meeting tomorrow, if you don't send it it won't pass,” and then pushes requests every weekday, sometimes on Saturdays, and other times completely quiet.

I'm not a full-time employee. I take jobs when they come. Some days I have to go shoot at the beach in the morning around 06:30–09:00, carrying my small camera and a water bottle, so balancing time is super hard. But he doesn’t really get it or explain properly — just says “make it like this” and sends a messy file, so I have to sit and fix it until midnight. Sometimes I message and he reads but doesn't reply, yet on the group chat he posts stories about eating at a fancy restaurant at 8 PM. Awkward lolol.

I want to set clear time boundaries, but I'm scared he'll stop giving me work. Income is still unstable. I want a proper schedule system, but I'm also afraid of losing opportunities. I'm so confused, honestly.

Do any freelance friends have ways to deal with clients who constantly request things outside work hours like this? Should I be blunt, or what can I do to make them respect my time without losing the job? OP is very confused, please give advice T_T

P.S. This got long, I’m confused myself haha. Oh and another thing — sometimes the files they send have zero explanation. Which text should be changed, what to delete — it’s like... why do I have to guess all this?
