Sorry, this is my first post so I'm not great at writing, might come out a bit messy. I'll continue this at lunch break later.
I'm 42, live in Korat near the university. I've been at the same office since I was young, like about 18 years—been with this place a long time. But lately things have changed soooo much. The work is the same, but the team and the way we communicate changed so I started doubting myself. Even leaving a cup on my desk makes me nervous. Feels like I'm not sleeping through the night and waking up fully—sleepy until 10AM a lot these past months.
Short version: we have a new boss who assigns things urgently and then disappears for real. I got emails asking for fixes at like almost 10pm two nights in a row. I opened my laptop, did what they asked, sent it back, and in the morning there was another email with things they never mentioned before. I was so confused. I asked back politely, but the reply was short and without details. My heart sank—afraid I'm not doing the job well enough or maybe I misunderstood.
Some teammates act totally indifferent like they don't want to get involved, but others said I misunderstood, which made me even more confused. Or maybe I'm just overthinking lol.
It's not that I don't want to adapt, but I'm scared if I speak up straight I might be seen as a complainer or picky. My little mouth feels heavy in my chest, like ugh so much.
Should I talk to the boss directly? Like book a short 10–15 minute chat or send an email asking for details in writing? What should I do—be direct and say I need more detail, or wait for the boss to tell us? Ugh I'm really confused.
Sorry if this is messy, I'm sleep deprived too T_T
Why does the job I've done for ages make me more confused now? Should I talk to my boss?
