I'm a factory worker in Nakhon Ratchasima, 25 years old.

Just need to vent a bit. I've been working in the assembly section for almost two years now (about 1 year 11 months and 3 weeks). We start every day at 6am sharp, a bit before the shoe repair guy opens, lunch is 12:00–13:00, finish at 4pm. Pretty much the same every day. It's super tiring but I can do the work. No big problems until the last two months.

A new supervisor came about seven weeks ago. He's chatty but obsessively serious about the numbers. Honestly I don't have a problem with the work itself, but there are small things that piled up and it's getting stressful. For example, he actually times people's breaks. I saw him sitting there writing times with a black pen, then he walks over and just says "too much break". He yells when shifts change — pretty loudly — makes everyone look down a bit.

He counts everyone's output himself, and if someone is a bit slower than usual he'll slap his hand down and make everyone stand in line and grill them: "Why slow?" in this scolding tone. It's so embarrassing, in front of others. One day my hand got a tiny paper cut, just a quick sting, and because I worked slower he told it to others like a joke: "People here work like this." I felt so awkward. Maybe I'm overthinking? I dunno lol.

Another thing: he gives urgent jobs almost every day around 4pm and says finish it tonight, even though I have to rush to catch a far bus home and stop by the market with my mom to buy a green tote. Some days I stay to finish and it takes about 2 more hours, and by the time I get home I'm too exhausted to cook. My body really is drained, I'm not lazy.

Some coworkers say just endure it, be patient. Others say if it gets too much, transfer or find somewhere else. I'm scared to change jobs now because my family depends on my salary, and these days it's hard to find a job with good overtime. Every morning I wake up dreading seeing his face, it actually makes my stomach hurt.

I don't want to be the type to complain, but fairness matters. I try to do my best, don't want trouble with anyone, but sometimes I feel looked down on, like the boss thinks new workers aren't serious, even though the old-timers are tired too.

I'm really confused. Sometimes I can't accept it, sometimes I'm angry, or should I adjust myself first? But how do I adjust? Work and life aren't always the same thing. Should I talk to him directly and tell him not to use that scolding attitude, or should I quietly start looking for a new job first? What do you guys think I should do?

P.S. Sorry if I sound too sensitive, but I really couldn't take it today T_T
