I have been dating a Thai girlfriend for over a year. Our relationship is great and she is a wonderful person. But my parents back home do not approve. They want me to marry someone from our own country. Whenever I mention my girlfriend during phone calls the mood goes cold. My mother said dating a foreigner means different cultures and it will be hard later. But my girlfriend is great and her family is wonderful. My parents just will not understand. I am stuck between the person I love and my family. Anyone been through this? How did you handle it?
