Broke up with my ex 3 months ago. It was amicable — no fights, the love just ran out.

The problem is "Pomelo" — the cat we raised together for 4 years. We adopted him as a kitten, 6 months into our relationship.

Vet bills, food — we always split everything 50/50. He took Pomelo for grooming, I took him for vaccines. We both love that cat equally.

When we broke up, I said, "Pomelo stays with me" — because I have a house and he rents a small apartment.

He went quiet, then said, "No, Pomelo is mine too."

Now we're alternating — 2 weeks at my place, 2 weeks at his. Pomelo seems stressed, vomiting, not eating. The vet says cats get stressed from frequent location changes.

I know one of us has to give in. But who's going to?
