My husband's younger brother is 28 and lost his job at the end of last year. My husband told him to stay with us temporarily while job-hunting. We felt bad for him and didn't object — figured 1-2 months.

8 months in.

Applied to a few jobs the first 1-2 months. After that, barely. Says "the jobs aren't good, salary's low, waste of time."

Eats our food, uses our water and electricity, watches our Netflix, doesn't pay a thing.

One day we mentioned expenses. He smiled and said: "Sister, you're charging your own brother? We're family."

My husband says nothing. Whatever I say, he sides with his brother.

The most exhausting part is the mess. Brother does nothing. We come home late from work and have to wash dishes, do laundry, pick up his stuff scattered all over the living room.

Honestly, sometimes I come home and see him sitting there playing games, smiling and waving at me, and I want to cry.

How do I get him out without losing the brother relationship?
